General Motors opens new parts processing plant in Michigan

General Motors Co. on Aug. 5 said it opened a new $65 million auto parts processing center in Flint, Mich., for ACDelco and GM Genuine Parts.

The facility is expected to create more than 800 hourly and salaried jobs, according to the release.

The parts processing plant, spanning 1.1 million square feet, replaces the company's facility in Burton, Mich.

The Detroit-based automaker said the factory unitizes and packages as many as 120 million service parts in a year.
