Report: Colo. drillers PDC Energy, SRC Energy discussing potential merger

Colorado-focused oil and gas producers PDC Energy Inc. and SRC Energy Inc. are discussing a potential merger, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources.

The companies are active drillers in the DJ Basin of Colorado, the report said. In the first quarter, PDC Energy's total production amounted to about 125,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, while SRC Energy's production totaled 65,771 boe/d.

The sources told Bloomberg that there is no guarantee the talks will lead to a deal.
