Huntington appoints regional presidents; Long-serving SVB&T director retires

Brentwood, Tenn.-based Reliant Bancorp Inc. unit Reliant Bank appointed Michael Williams Jr. as executive vice president and market president for Maury and Hickman counties.

Williams previously was first vice president and head of private banking division at InsBank.


Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington Bancshares Inc. appointed Eric Dietz as regional president for Southeast Michigan, while Greg Viener was appointed Mid-Michigan regional president.

Dietz and Viener are two long-time Huntington employees in Michigan.


Jasper, Ind.-based SVB&T Corp. announced that director Pete Sermersheim retired from his position on May 21.

Sermersheim joined the board of SVB&T's unit Springs Valley Bank & Trust Co. in 1976.


Montebello, N.Y.-based Sterling Bancorp shareholders elected Mona Aboelnaga Kanaan to the company's board.

Kanaan is the founder and managing partner of K6 Investments LLC.


Boston-based Berkshire Hills Bancorp Inc. appointed Baye Adofo-Wilson, Rheo Brouillard and William Hughes III to its board, as well as the board of its unit, Berkshire Bank.

Adofo-Wilson has served as deputy mayor and director of economic and housing development for Newark, N.J.

Brouillard most recently was director, president and CEO of Willimantic, Conn.-based SI Financial Group Inc., which Berkshire Hills acquired on May 17.

Hughes is the founder and president of Open4 Learning, which is an advisory business in the education technology and employment technology sectors.

Financial Services

Odilon Almeida, executive vice president and president for global money transfer at Western Union Co., will step down, effective June 30.

Almeida will serve the company through Sept. 30 in a senior advisory role to assist with the transition.


Walker & Dunlop Inc. appointed Kyle Palmer as senior vice president and managing director of Walker & Dunlop Investment Sales.

Palmer previously was vice president and regional manager at Marcus & Millichap Inc.


Fiera Capital Corp. added Natixis Investment Managers CEO Jean Raby to its board as a class A director, replacing Martin Gagnon after Natixis' acquisition of an 11% stake in Fiera.

Co-Chairman and senior partner at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP Norman Steinberg was also added to the company's board as a class B director.
