Marks and Spencer Group PLC appointed Jeremy Pee as the British retail company's new chief digital and data officer, effective Dec. 3, according to a Sept. 5 announcement.
Pee will join Marks and Spencer from Loblaw Cos. Ltd., where he is currently the senior vice president of the company's digital division.
In his new role, Pee will lead the business strategy to transform the retailer's digital capabilities and drive its digital innovation agenda, reporting directly to CEO Steve Rowe, M&S said.
Earlier in 2018, the U.K. department store operator restructured its marketing team as part of its five-year transformation plan.
The company said Pee's appointment follows M&S' entry into technology-focused partnerships with technology giant Microsoft Corp., venture capital firm Founders Factory Ltd., digital education group Decoded and consumer technology investment company True.
