Report: Westpac head of M&A to leave

Westpac Banking Corp.'s head of mergers and acquisitions, Harvey Carter, has resigned to go into private equity, The Australian Financial Review's Street Talk blog reported March 6, citing an internal memo and sources.

Carter is expected to stay at the bank until the end of May, according to an internal memo seen by AFR. Carter led the M&A team for the last decade.

Sources said Carter was leaving to go back into private equity.
