Credit Agricole not eyeing merger deal with Banca Carige, Creval

Crédit Agricole SA's CEO for Italy, Giampiero Maioli, said the bank does not plan to acquire Banca Carige SpA or Credito Valtellinese SpA, The Medi Telegraph reported March 22.

"We are not considering anything because we are working on the integration of our three banks which will be completed by autumn," Maioli said at the end of an executive committee meeting of the Italian banking association.

Crédit Agricole's Italian subsidiary, Crédit Agricole Cariparma SpA, completed the acquisition of Cassa di Risparmio di Cesena SpA, Cassa di Risparmio di Rimini SpA and Cassa di Risparmio di San Miniato SpA in December 2017.
