Aurvista Gold Corp. said April 5 that it staked an additional 294 mineral claims covering 164.4 square kilometers to double the size of its Douay gold project in Quebec.
Aurvista increased its Douay land package to 573 claims totaling around 305 square kilometers, with extended strike length along the Casa Berardi deformation zone in the Abitibi greenstone belt of northern Quebec.
The company plans to complete airborne geophysical coverage and initial ground surveys over the new claims this summer.
