The VC Beat: Glycomine gets $33M in series B financing; Ezoic secures $33M

* A $33 million series B funding for Glycomine Inc., a biotechnology company developing new treatments for rare diseases, was led by Novo Holdings A/S. Other round participants include new investors Asahi Kasei Pharma Corp. and Mission Bay Capital, as well as existing backers Sanderling and Chiesi Ventures. Glycomine collected $12.0 million in a series A round in November 2016.

* Ezoic Inc., an artificial intelligence-based platform for digital publishers, obtained $33 million in growth capital from Sageview Capital. Ezoic pulled in $5.6 million in a series A round in November 2013.

* Mobile-first personal sales assistant Vymo raised $18 million in a series B financing round led by Emergence Capital, with participation from current investor Sequoia India. Vymo obtained about $5.0 million in a series A round in November 2016.
