In its latest effort to attract younger and digitally savvy investors, TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. is allowing customers to initialize trades through Twitter Inc., The Wall Street Journal reported.
TD Ameritrade's Twitter "chatbot" is similar to the one it launched for Facebook Messenger in August 2017. The Twitter bot is powered by an algorithm that sifts through users' tweets and uses relevant information to provide them with details on volume spikes, live trading quotes and company news, according to the report.
The Twitter bot will not allow clients to access areas like bitcoin, but may eventually allow trading beyond stocks and exchange-traded funds, the Journal reported.
