Natura Cosméticos profit misses consensus by 35.2% in Q2

Natura Cosméticos SA said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to 25 Brazilian centavos per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 39 centavos per share.

EPS declined 32.0% year over year from 37 centavos.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 107.9 million reais, a decline of 32.0% from 158.6 million reais in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 5.6% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 7.0% on an annual basis to 1.93 billion reais from 1.80 billion reais, and total operating expenses grew 9.3% on an annual basis to 1.62 billion reais from 1.49 billion reais.

Reported net income fell 33.6% on an annual basis to 116.7 million reais, or 27 centavos per share, from 175.8 million reais, or 41 centavos per share.

As of July 22, US$1 was equivalent to 3.21 reais.
