Hai-O Enterprise fiscal Q1 profit climbs 6.4% YOY

4916460 said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended July 31 amounted to 2 Malaysian sen per share, a gain of 7.1% from 2 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 5.6 million ringgits, a gain of 6.4% from 5.3 million ringgits in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 10.1% from 10.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 11.2% year over year to 55.4 million ringgits from 49.8 million ringgits, and total operating expenses rose 12.2% from the prior-year period to 46.7 million ringgits from 41.6 million ringgits.

Reported net income grew 6.5% year over year to 6.6 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 6.2 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.
