Acelon Chemicals & Fiber Q2 loss widens YOY

Acelon Chemicals & Fiber Corp. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was a loss of 13 Taiwan cents per share, compared with a loss of 6 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$15.2 million, compared with a loss of NT$6.2 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to negative 1.6% from negative 0.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 10.4% year over year to NT$932.4 million from NT$1.04 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 8.3% from the prior-year period to NT$949.7 million from NT$1.04 billion.

Reported net income totaled a loss of NT$22.7 million, or a loss of 20 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$10.1 million, or a loss of 9 cents per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Aug. 12, US$1 was equivalent to NT$31.39.
