Braintree, Mass-based BELD Internet, formerly known as BELD Broadband, has decided to stop offering cable television services.
"As of Dec. 2, BELD will no longer offer cable television service due to costs beyond our control," General Manager Bill Bottiggi said in a Sept. 23 statement. "So for any Braintree resident thinking about cutting the cord, now’s the time and we’ll coach you through it with straightforward, step-by-step guidance."
The company made available its internet service with broadband plans up to 1 gigabit per second and launched a campaign to help residents in Braintree replace their cable service with internet-based streaming services.
The "K.O. Cable" campaign will educate customers how to stream sports, news, national networks, on-demand movies, as well as the Hallmark Channel (US), HGTV (US) and other cable networks.
