En-Touch Systems files antitrust complaint against AT&T, units

En-Touch Systems Inc. filed an antitrust complaint against AT&T Inc. and its subsidiaries for demanding an "exorbitantly" high price for the carriage of AT&T SportsNet Southwest (US).

The regional sports network has exclusive rights to carry Houston Astros and Houston Rockets games. En-Touch Systems alleged that the defendants engaged in "predatory and anticompetitive conduct" by charging multichannel video programming distributors like En-Touch an artificially high price for AT&T SportsNet.

En-Touch further claimed that the defendants colluded and conspired to restrain trade and monopolize the Houston cable television subscription market.

According to a Dec. 5 filing with the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, Los Angeles Division, the plaintiff has demanded a trial by jury and claimed that it suffered economic and actual damages, including future revenue.
