Amazon.com Inc.'s global treasurer, Kurt Zumwalt, has left the e-commerce giant, the latest high-profile executive to depart in recent months, CNBC reported Aug. 26, citing a person familiar with the matter.
He managed Amazon's cash balance and investment portfolio, as well as debt financing, the report said. The news outlet said Zumwalt did not respond to inquiries.
Zumwalt, who had been at the company for 15 years, reportedly left in the week of Aug. 19. He has since updated his LinkedIn profile to reflect his departure from the Seattle-based company.
Tony Masone, who joined Amazon as assistant treasurer in September 2016 after serving as industrial treasurer for more than four years at General Electric, now holds the treasurer position at the online retailer, according to his LinkedIn page.
Zumwalt's reported exit follows Jeff Blackburn's decision to take a one-year sabbatical. Prentis Wilson, vice president of Amazon Business, meanwhile, left in June to join startup Boxed.
In March, Sunny Jain, who ran Amazon's health and personal care business, left for The Unilever Group, while Chee Chew, former vice president of consumer engagement, left Amazon to join Twilio Inc. as chief product officer in January, CNBC said.
