QNB gets regulatory nod to open Hong Kong branch

Qatar National Bank (QPSC) said Sept. 26 that it received regulatory approval to open a branch in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong will provide a gateway to important Asian markets and is a key component of the bank's international expansion plans, said acting CEO Abdulla Mubarak al-Khalifa

"Growth in both Hong Kong and China is expected to continue, driven by trade opportunities, direct investments and large infrastructure spending opportunities," he said.

QNB is the largest bank by assets in the Middle East and Africa, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data.
