Report: VC firm Communitas Capital Partners targets $50M for 1st fintech fund

Communitas Capital Partners LLC is looking to raise $50 million for its inaugural fund, The PE Hub Network reported, citing unnamed sources.

Communitas Capital Partners Fund I LP had pulled in roughly $15.0 million from 24 investors as of Jan. 3, according to an SEC filing.

The venture capital firm, which invests in fintech and marketplace companies, was founded by Doug Atkin, former CEO of Instinet and Majestic Research; Tom Glocer, former CEO of Thomson Reuters Corp.; and former NYSE CEO and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. partner Duncan Niederauer.

Currently, Glocer sits on the boards of Observer of Symphony Communication Services and Morgan Stanley, while Niederauer is a board member at residential real estate services company Realogy Holdings Corp. and First Republic Bank.
