Quantum Health to buy Carestream's service business in Australia, New Zealand

Quantum Health Group Ltd. agreed to acquire Carestream Health's medical imaging service businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

According to the agreement between Quantum Health, Carestream Health Australia Pty. Ltd. and Carestream New Zealand Ltd., Quantum Health will pay A$4.2 million to Carestream, excluding A$1.7 million for deferred revenue, warranty labor provision and staff entitlements with A$880,000 of the amount to be paid to Carestream over the course of two years after the completion of the acquisition.

The deal is expected to close Nov. 1.

Carestream's medical imaging service business gives onsite and remote service to hospitals and radiology imaging centers in Australia and New Zealand. Following the completion, Quantum's healthcare division will be responsible for Carestream's service arrangements and contracts already in place with its customer base and for the ongoing liabilities of operating the service business.

Additionally, Quantum has been appointed as a sales distributor of Carestream's digital radiography imaging equipment in Australia and New Zealand.

Australia-based Quantum Health distributes medical imaging and patient treatment equipment and services in Australia, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, New Zealand and China.
