QYOU Media Inc., a Canadian-based digital content provider, joined with Bharti Airtel Ltd., a satellite and digital television provider in India, to launch an original digital content channel on Airtel's platform in Hindi.
The network, called The Q India, shows local content and regional shows intended for an Indian audience, ages 20-30. Airtel Digital TV reaches over 14 million homes across India, according to a Dec. 18 news release.
"We are delighted to join Airtel, and happy that both platform and advertising partners are beginning to recognize the potential The Q India offers them to reach millions of Millennial and Gen Z digital savvy viewers in their sub base who are now able to enjoy India's best digital content through The Q India service," said Sunder Aaron, general manager and co-founder of The Q India, in a Dec. 18 press release.
