Endesa Q3 profit falls YOY

Endesa SA said its normalized net income for the third quarter was 30 euro cents per share, a decline of 10.5% from 34 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was €319.3 million, a decrease of 11.1% from €359.0 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 6.9% from 7.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to €4.66 billion from €4.76 billion, and total operating expenses totaled €4.11 billion, compared with €4.13 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income declined 15.1% from the prior-year period to €432.0 million, or 41 cents per share, from €509.0 million, or 48 cents per share.
