Joshin Denki Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥37.93 per share, a decline of 20.6% from ¥47.76 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.01 billion, a decrease of 20.1% from ¥1.26 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 1.0% from 1.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to ¥101.52 billion from ¥104.37 billion, and total operating expenses declined year over year to ¥99.90 billion from ¥102.29 billion.
Reported net income declined 36.0% from the prior-year period to ¥929.1 million, or ¥35.02 per share, from ¥1.45 billion, or ¥55.03 per share.
As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.90.
