SSE to provide renewable energy to Arriva's UK bus, rail sites

Arriva PLC's transportation network in the U.K. will have all of its bus and rail sites be supplied by SSE PLC with 100% renewable power after entering into a three-year supply contract.

SSE Business Energy will supply most sites operated by Arriva's U.K. businesses, including UK Bus, Arriva Rail North and Chiltern Railways, with electricity fully backed by renewable electricity guarantee of origins and independently verified by Carbon Clear, a CDP accredited provider, according to a May 29 news release.

The contract will also give Arriva access to SSE's energy monitoring portal, Clarity, to monitor electricity consumption.
