Lion Travel Service Q1 profit climbs 65.3% YOY

Lion Travel Service Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was NT$1.46 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$1.58 per share.

EPS climbed 65.1% year over year from 88 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$102.6 million, an increase of 65.3% from NT$62.0 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.4% from 1.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 25.4% year over year to NT$4.30 billion from NT$3.43 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 23.8% on an annual basis to NT$4.16 billion from NT$3.36 billion.

Reported net income rose 62.9% year over year to NT$134.9 million, or NT$1.92 per share, from NT$82.8 million, or NT$1.18 per share.

As of May 13, US$1 was equivalent to NT$30.62.
