Hanoi Beer Trading Q1 loss narrows YOY

Hanoi Beer Trading JSC said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 5.00 dong per share, compared with a loss of 461.25 dong per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 15.1 million dong, compared with a loss of 1.44 billion dong in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to negative 0.0% from negative 3.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 20.1% year over year to 53.64 billion dong from 44.68 billion dong, and total operating expenses climbed 13.5% on an annual basis to 54.28 billion dong from 47.82 billion dong.

Reported net income came to a loss of 24.1 million dong, or a loss of 8.00 dong per share, compared to a loss of 2.30 billion dong, or a loss of 738.00 dong per share, in the prior-year period.

As of April 21, US$1 was equivalent to 21,585 dong.
