Citigroup names co-head of ECM for EMEA; UK Finance makes board appointments

* Citigroup Inc. appointed Suneel Hargunani as the co-head of its equity capital markets business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to a memo obtained by S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Hargunani, who had led the U.S.-based bank's EMEA equity syndicate business since 2008, will partner with Valery Barrier in managing the lender's EMEA equity capital markets business.

The lender appointed Naveen Mittel to succeed Hargunani as head of its EMEA equity syndicate business.

UK Finance

* British trade body UK Finance appointed Santander UK PLC's retail and business banking head, Susan Allen, and executive vice president and CEO of Visa Europe Ltd., Charlotte Hogg, to its board of directors, effective Sept. 26.

UK Finance also revealed that James Bardrick, Ron Kalifa, Mark Sismey-Durrant and Ashok Vaswani stepped down from its board, following the expiration of the terms of their agreements.

Bardrick is the head of Citigroup's U.K. operations, Kalifa is an executive director and the deputy chairman at Worldpay, Sismey-Durrant is the former CEO of Hampshire Trust Bank PLC and Vaswani is the CEO of Barclays Bank UK PLC.
