Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi bourses merge to form Vietnam Stock Exchange

Two Vietnamese stock exchanges based in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi merged into a single bourse to establish the Vietnam Stock Exchange, Vietnam News Agency reported.

Under the deal, Hanoi Stock Exchange agreed to acquire Hochiminh Stock Exchange on Aug. 14.

The post-merger stock exchange is set to be headquartered in Hanoi and will be managed by the country's Ministry of Finance, according to the report.
