TheScore Inc. will roll out a sports betting platform in New Jersey in mid-2019, following a licensing partnership with Darby Development LLC, operator of the Monmouth Park Racetrack and the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association, the company said Dec. 18.
Under terms of the partnership, Score Digital Sports Ventures Inc. will operate a branded sportsbook pursuant to one of the licenses conferred upon the association by the State of New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Darby Development will be entitled to some percentage of the derived revenue from Score Digital's operation of the sportsbook, subject to annual minimum guarantees and applicable renewable fees.
Score Digital also signed a multiyear binding term sheet with Bet.Works (US) LLC to power theScore's online and mobile sports betting platforms. Bet.Works will supply sportsbook technology exclusively to theScore in the U.S. in addition to facilitating its sports betting operations.
The agreement consists of an initial period of five years, which is extendable for two consecutive five-year terms at Score Digital's discretion, according to the news release.
The partnership is subject to approvals and licenses from the State of New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the New Jersey Racing Commission.
