Aurora Funds axes CFO; Eureka Group expands board with new chairman, director

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of recent significant management and board changes and personnel moves in the Asia-Pacific real estate industry. The moves are listed by sector and by announcement date in reverse chronological order. The Europe and North America Hires and Fires columns will be published Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Australia

* CAQ Holdings Ltd. named CFO Ivan Cheng as nonexecutive director, along with Kwan Chan and Yuk Cheung Chan.

* Eureka Group Holdings Ltd. added Murray Boyte and Sue Renkin to its board as chairman and nonexecutive director, respectively.

Boyte replaced Robin Levison, who will continue to serve as a nonexecutive director to oversee the transition process. Renkin will also chair the audit and risk committee.

* National Storage REIT unit holders passed a resolution at its Nov. 28 annual general meeting for the appointment of Claire Fidler as director.

* Aurora Funds Management Ltd. fired CFO Betty Poon after funds owned by Aurora Property Buy-Write Income Trust worth A$1 million "appear to have been taken" from its bank account without consent. Poon left the company immediately and the company will name a replacement as soon as possible.

* Unit holders of Investa Office Fund's responsible entity approved the appointment of Gai McGrath as director at its Nov. 23 annual unit holder meeting.

* At its Nov. 23 annual general meeting, Asia Pacific Data Centre members elected as directors 360 Capital Group Managing Director Tony Pitt and chairman and independent director David van Aanholt, while the resolutions for the election of NEXTDC Ltd.'s Stuart Davis and Craig Scroggie were withdrawn.

* Josephine Sukkar's appointment as Growthpoint Properties Australia director was resolved at the Nov. 22 annual general meeting of the company. Sukkar, a member of the Order of Australia, was named to the board as an independent nonexecutive director Oct. 1.

* Nigel Dews and Cath Rogers were elected as McGrath Ltd. directors at the Nov. 22 annual general meeting of the company.

* Hotel Property Investments affirmed the appointment of Giselle Collins as a director, as shareholders approved the election at a Nov. 22 annual general meeting.

Japan

* Premier Investment Corp.'s manager, Premier REIT Advisors Co. Ltd., said Tatsuya Takahashi was named as chief investment officer, investment department, in addition to his roles of director and CFO, finance department, after Katsushi Hattori was redesignated to a part-time director, with the changes going into effect Dec. 1.

Malaysia

* Teo Mee Hui took on the position of joint secretary at CapitaLand Malaysia Mall Trust, with effect from Nov. 24, after Lim Lee Kuan resigned.

* Eastern & Oriental Bhd. appointed Wong Yah Yee as company secretary, effective Nov. 20, following the resignation of Ang Hong Mai on the same day.

Hong Kong

* The appointments of Y.T. Leng, Alexander Au and E.K. Yeoh as directors of Wharf Real Estate Investment Co. Ltd. became effective Nov. 23, following the new company's debut on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd.'s main board.

* Lam Kin Kok resigned as director of Star Properties Group (Cayman Islands) Ltd., with effect from Nov. 23, due to a personal issue.

Philippines

* Augusto Bengzon was promoted to senior vice president of Ayala Land Inc. from vice president, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Joseph Carmichael Jugo was also promoted to vice president from assistant vice president.
