Henry Schein: Harvard president-to-be will step down from board

Melville, N.Y.-based Henry Schein Inc. said Lawrence Bacow will step down as a director and will not stand for re-election at the company's annual meeting.

Bacow is stepping down from the company's board to focus on his new position as president of Harvard University. He will take over from the university's current head, Drew Faust, on July 1.

Bacow will continue to serve as a director and a member of Henry Schein's strategic advisory and nominating and governance committees until the annual meeting.

Further, Donald Kabat will also not stand for re-election at the annual meeting and will be retiring from the board due to the age requirement. Kabat will also serve as a director, chairperson of the audit committee and member of the compensation committee until the annual meeting.

Meanwhile, Shira Goodman has been nominated for election as a director of the company at the annual meeting. Goodman was previously CEO of Staples Inc., an office supply retailing corporation.
