OptimumBank sees biggest spike in short interest in late November

OptimumBank Holdings Inc. posted the largest increase in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered banks and thrifts between Nov. 15 and Nov. 30.

The company saw short interest rise 433 basis points to 4.47% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

Texas Capital Bancshares Inc. saw the largest decline in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered banks and thrifts during that period. The company saw short interest drop 216 basis points to 4.31% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

Banc of California Inc. topped the list of most shorted banks and thrifts for the second half of November. The company saw short interest decline 167 basis points to 33.15% of shares outstanding.
