Duke Energy Renewables Solar has received the approval of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to acquire a 100% membership stake in the 24.9-MW Shoreham Solar Commons from Invenergy LLC.

The project, located in Brookhaven, N.Y., is expected to go online in the second quarter of 2018 and will sell power to Long Island Power Authority under a 20-year contract.
