Massachusetts regulator approves Merrimack Valley CU/Bridgewater CU merger

The Massachusetts Division of Banks on Nov. 30 approved Lawrence, Mass.-based Merrimack Valley CU's merger with and into Bridgewater, Mass.-based Bridgewater CU.

As part of the deal, Merrimack Valley will amend its bylaws to include Bridgewater's current membership eligibility, according to the state regulator's November activity report.

The continuing entity would be headquartered at Merrimack Valley's main office, and Bridgewater's banking offices would be retained as Merrimack Valley's branch offices.
