Brazilian securities regulator CVM launched another investigation into executives of Vale SA over whether they breached their fiduciary duties related to the tailings dam disaster in January at the Feijao iron ore mine, Reuters reported Aug. 20.
The investigation is related to a previous probe by the regulator to look into any violations of securities laws the miner made over the dam incident.
The regulator said its investigation is not related to environmental issues.
Vale CFO Luciano Siani is facing two probes from CVM into his conduct following the Feijao dam disaster that left hundreds dead.
