QTS Realty's Sterling, Va., data center receives LEED certification

QTS Realty Trust Inc. said the U.S. Green Building Council awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, certification for its Ashburn Data Center property in Sterling, Va.

The certification covers the entire 445,000-square-foot, three-story facility. The facility has 178,000 square feet of raised floor and 32 MW of critical power capacity.

QTS has achieved LEED certification for 60% of its owned facilities thus far and aims to increase this to 90% by 2025.
