AEP utilities issue requests for proposals for wind energy resources

American Electric Power Co. Inc. subsidiaries Southwestern Electric Power Co. and Public Service Co. of Oklahoma on Jan. 7 issued two separate requests for proposals for additional wind energy generation resources to be operational by 2021.

Southwestern Electric Power is seeking proposals, or RFPs, for up to 1,200 MW of wind projects while Public Service of Oklahoma is requesting bids for up to 1,000 MW.

Proposals must have a minimum nameplate rating of 100 MW. The projects must be operational by Dec. 15, 2021, and located in and interconnected to the Southwest Power Pool regional grid in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas or Oklahoma.

Interested bidders must submit identical proposals to both RFPs by March 1. Additional information on the RFPs is available at PSOklahoma.com/RFP and SWEPCO.com/RFP.

American Electric Power Service Corp. is administering the RFPs on behalf of the AEP subsidiaries.
