PJSC Lukoil has commissioned a steam generation farm at the Yarega oil field in the Republic of Komi in a bid to hike production as part of the second phase of the field's development.
During the first half of this year, oil production at the field grew by 77% from the same period in 2017, reaching 761 thousand metric tonnes, the company said Sept. 10.
The farm, including five boilers with a total capacity of 125 metric tonnes of steam per hour, will produce steam vapor under higher pressure than that produced previously by the boiler room. The higher pressure provides better efficiency of the reservoir heat-up and increases the wells' flow rates.
The company also said is working to increase the capacities of the center and north steam-generation farms at the Yarega field.
