The movie's reception skewed more toward the negative side, with a 29% "rotten" rating and 47% audience score on RottenTomatoes.com. "Featuring twice the moms but roughly half the laughs, A Bad Moms Christmas is a slapdash holiday sequel that falls short of the original with a disappointing dearth of good cheer," the site wrote. On Metacritic, the metascore was a 42 out of 100 and the user score was a 4.5. IMDb's score, as of Feb. 21, stood at a 5.6.

Sony Corp.'s "Only the Brave" debuted at No. 2 on the VOD chart for the measured period. Starring Josh Brolin, Miles Teller and Jeff Bridges, the film is based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of elite firefighters who risk everything to protect a town from a historic wildfire.

The film made $18.3 million domestically and $4.8 million overseas for a global take of about $23.1 million, compared to a $38 million production budget, according to Box Office Mojo.

Most critics and regular audiences liked the film, which received an 87% "fresh" rating and 92% audience score on RottenTomatoes.com. "Only the Brave's impressive veteran cast and affecting fact-based story add up to a no-frills drama that's just as stolidly powerful as the real-life heroes it honors," the site wrote. Metacritic's score was a 72 out of 100 and the user score on the site was a 7.5, while IMDb's score was a 7.8.

Taking the No. 3 spot was Tyler Perry's comedy sequel "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween." The Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. movie, which made $47.3 million domestically, sees Madea and the gang venture to a haunted campground where they face a variety of monsters.

"Boo 2!" received an overwhelming negative reception from viewers, with a 6% "rotten" rating and 41% audience score from RottenTomatoes.com, a 17 out of 100 metascore and 2.1 user score on Metacritic and a 3.4 rating from IMDb.
