BDCOM Online fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

BDCOM Online Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, amounted to 24 poisha per share, a decline of 11.5% from 27 poisha per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 10.8 million taka, a decline of 11.7% from 12.3 million taka in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 10.1% from 13.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 20.5% on an annual basis to 107.4 million taka from 89.1 million taka, and total operating expenses rose 27.8% on an annual basis to 94.1 million taka from 73.6 million taka.

Reported net income decreased 9.3% from the prior-year period to 15.2 million taka, or 33 poisha per share, from 16.7 million taka, or 36 poisha per share.

As of Jan. 29, US$1 was equivalent to 78.42 taka.
