OPNET Technologies Q1 loss widens YOY

OPNET Technologies Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income amounted to a loss of 10 Taiwan cents per share, compared with a loss of 2 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$6.4 million, compared with a loss of NT$1.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 17.4% from negative 2.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 42.5% year over year to NT$36.7 million from NT$63.8 million, and total operating expenses declined 32.3% year over year to NT$43.9 million from NT$64.9 million.

Reported net income came to a loss of NT$10.6 million, or a loss of 17 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$2.6 million, or a loss of 4 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
