Sugi Holdings Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Feb. 28 was ¥51.72 per share, a gain of 8.4% from ¥47.71 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥3.27 billion, an increase of 8.4% from ¥3.02 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 3.4% from 3.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 5.7% year over year to ¥96.99 billion from ¥91.76 billion, and total operating expenses rose 5.4% year over year to ¥92.01 billion from ¥87.27 billion.
Reported net income grew 14.1% from the prior-year period to ¥2.65 billion, or ¥41.90 per share, from ¥2.33 billion, or ¥36.74 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥216.43 per share, a gain from ¥208.46 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥13.70 billion, an increase from ¥13.20 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased 5.1% year over year to ¥383.64 billion from ¥365.20 billion, and total operating expenses rose 5.1% year over year to ¥362.78 billion from ¥345.10 billion.
The company said reported net income totaled ¥12.86 billion, or ¥203.14 per share, in the full year, compared with ¥12.82 billion, or ¥202.48 per share, the prior year.
