Wellness Noni fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

Wellness Noni Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was 6,620 rupees, a fall of 91.1% from 74,240 rupees in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin declined to 0.3% from 5.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 86.5% on an annual basis to 2.6 million rupees from 1.4 million rupees, and total operating expenses grew year over year to 2.6 million rupees from 1.3 million rupees.

Reported net income fell 69.0% from the prior-year period to 23,500 rupees, or 1 paise per share, from 75,790 rupees, or 2 paise per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 10 paise per share, a decline of 17.9% from 12 paise per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 309,750 rupees, a decline of 16.4% from 370,490 rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 65.2% from the prior-year period to 7.3 million rupees from 4.4 million rupees, and total operating expenses increased 78.2% on an annual basis to 6.8 million rupees from 3.8 million rupees.

The company said reported net income fell 11.2% on an annual basis to 358,500 rupees, or 11 paise per share, in the full year, from 403,790 rupees, or 13 paise per share.

As of May 29, US$1 was equivalent to 63.76 Indian rupees.
