Conagra Brands recalls canned beef pasta over processing defect

Conagra Brands Inc. is recalling about 32,400 pounds of canned beef products due to a potential processing defect.

In a July 31 statement, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said the processing defects could result in the potential survival of bacterial pathogens in the products.

The recall covers 15-ounce cans of Kaskey's Beefy Mac Pasta in Tomato & Meat Sauce with best-by date of July 7, 2021, and establishment No. 794 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The products were produced July 18 and distributed to retail outlets in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and Texas.

The USDA said the problem was detected during routine activities July 27.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the beef products, according to the notice.

Customers who have purchased the items are urged not to consume them and instead to throw them away or return them to their place of purchase.
