DLF Ltd.'s shopping mall unit is collaborating with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.'s cloud computing arm that will provide big data, artificial intelligence and computing technology to DLF Shopping Malls, Mint (New Delhi) reported.
Under the partnership, Alibaba Cloud, which entered India's cloud computing sector in 2017, will supply DLF Shopping Malls with data analytics and consumer insights as the mall business unit focuses on integrating the online and offline shopping sectors in India, DLF Shopping Malls Head Harshavardhan Chauhan said.
The partnership with Alibaba Cloud comes following DLF Shopping Malls' Sept. 5 launch of its Lukout mobile app aimed at improving the online shopping experience of its customers, according to the same-day report, which cited a company statement.
Chauhan added that the meeting of the physical and digital world in the new retail space could shake up the industry for the next 20 years. He said the company is making the physical spaces "intuitively smarter."
