Dutch food retailer Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV said June 5 that it repurchased 2,452,429 of its common shares between May 28 and June 1.
The shares were purchased at an average price of €19.65 per share for a total consideration of €48.2 million.
The buyback is part of the €2 billion share repurchase program the retailer announced in November 2017. Ahold Delhaize bought back 1,841,292 of its common shares between May 21 and May 25 at an average price of €19.76 per share for a total consideration of €36.4 million.
A total of 45,130,544 common shares have been repurchased under this program to date, for a total consideration of €843.4 million.
