Apple boosts iMac line with new Intel processors

Apple Inc. updated its iMac line of computers with new Intel Corp. processors and Radeon Pro Vega graphics.

The 21.5-inch iMac now features 8th-generation quad-core and 6-core processors, while the 27-inch iMac features up to 9th-generation 6-core and 8-core processors, the company said March 19.

The new 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display starts at $1,299 and the new 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display starts at $1,799. The computers are available to order online starting today, and in Apple Stores and at Apple Authorized Resellers next week.

The non-Retina display iMac configuration continues to be available for $1,099.
