Deutsche Telekom AG's Dutch unit T-Mobile Netherlands will shut down its over-the-top TV service Knippr on June 1, Telecompaper reported, citing a company statement.
According to T-Mobile Netherlands, the Dutch OTT service, which was launched in 2016, failed to reach sufficient scale, which made it challenging to improve Knippr's content offering for a low price.
T-Mobile Netherlands said it will continue with the "a la carte" philosophy, but will also offer bundles. The technical knowledge gained from operating Knippr will be used to strengthen the company's other services.
