Tech firms urge FCC to keep net neutrality rules

Companies including Twitter Inc., IAC/InterActiveCorp's Vimeo Inc. and Reddit urged the Federal Communications Commission to vote against the roll back of the net neutrality rules.

In a Nov. 27 letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, the companies argued that net neutrality rules "encourage entrepreneurship, drive innovation, make our lives easier, and to support a healthy economy."

Pai recently released the draft version of an order that would overturn the Open Internet Order of 2015. The prior order classified broadband as a Title II service under the Communications Act, making it subject to more stringent regulatory authority.
