Copper Mountain Mining Corp. started drilling the New Ingerbelle deposit at its namesake mine in southern British Columbia.
The second-phase program includes 10,000 meters of drilling to follow-up on the first phase of drilling in 2017, which confirmed that mineralization is open laterally and at depth.
The current program will look to expand the New Ingerbelle resource area and convert inferred resources to the measured and indicated category, according to a June 7 release.
Results from the second phase are expected late in the third quarter.
The company is conducting a three-phase drilling program at New Ingerbelle to outline at least 150 million tonnes of measured and indicated resources before starting a feasibility study on its development potential.
Copper Mountain separately said the same day that Jim O'Rourke is expected to be elected as the company's chairman at a June 20 shareholders' meeting.
O'Rourke retired as president and CEO, effective June 1.
