Ambassador Susan Rice, a former U.S. national security adviser and ambassador to the United Nations, joined Netflix Inc.'s board, effective March 26.
Rice will serve on the Netflix board as a Class II director, the company said in a Form 8-K filed March 28.
From 2013 to 2017, Rice directed the National Security Council staff; chaired the Cabinet-level National Security Principals committee; provided the daily national security briefing to former President Barack Obama; and oversaw the formulation, coordination and implementation of all aspects of the Obama administration's foreign and national security policy, intelligence and military efforts, according to a March 28 news release.
From 2009 to 2013, Rice served as the U.S. permanent representative to the U.N. and as a cabinet member.
