Edgewell to sell infant, pet care business to Angelcare

Edgewell Personal Care Co. on Oct. 21 said it agreed to sell its infant and pet care businesses to Le Holding Angelcare Inc. for $122.5 million.

Edgewell CEO Rod Little said the company decided to sell the businesses after a strategic review.

The deal is expected to close by the end of 2019.

Angelcare will acquire the rights and assets to the Diaper Genie diaper disposal system and the Litter Genie cat litter disposal system.

The transaction also includes exclusive rights to the Playtex brand in infant and pet spaces. Angelcare, which manufactures baby monitor and baby bath products, will acquire the rights from Playtex Marketing Corp. for the U.S. and Canada and from HBI Branded Apparel Enterprises for other parts of the world.
